  • I have to say that I applaud the reaction from our leaders (not the ones on radio, TV, or Internet, mind you, but the real leaders). People like Rep. Boehner, Rep. Cantor, President Obama, Gov. Brewer, Sen. Reid, and many, many others, in their reaction and calls for civility.

  • I said nothing of the sort, Valhalla Phil. I blame both sides (and did in my post, if you bothered to read it). It is vitriol and the hate filled tone like yours that led to this (as well as from the extreme left, BTW). I can sleep just fine at night, thank you very much. How about you?

We like to think of ourselves as a civilized society, but you listen, watch, and, yes, read, comments like I've seen over the last few days, and long before, and I wonder how we can call ourselves civilized.

  • You know, in the end, it doesn't matter which side this came from. He was motivated to act by someone who spews hate. There are merchants of hate on both extremes and it needs to stop. Period.

  • Oh, so this guy just randomly chose this particular grocery store to launch a violent attack? How could it have NOT been motivated by what was, in his deranged mind, a call to arms? He KNEW who was there, and that motivated him to attack. He targeted Rep. Giffords specifically.
